Graduates in cognitive sciences and communication theories will be able to:
- exercise functions of responsibility in organisations and management of services directed at individuals, groups and communities in both public and private companies, as well as in schools and public administration;
- be employed in all public and private facilities where a cognitive approach to rehabilitation is required, both in terms of theory and application;
- working on the design of software, models, automated systems, platforms and computer interfaces;
- directing and participating in teams at all organisations involved in research in the area of cognitive and communication sciences and with specific practical applications;
- performing duties of high responsibility in the field of social, journalistic and multimedia communication, theoretical design of integrated communication environments, with particular reference to the design and implementation of media and multimedia products
- performing duties of responsibility in public and private enterprises operating in the field of the implementation of structured interventions for the dissemination of communication techniques on telematic networks (Internet) and media (radio, television, newspapers, traditional and electronic publishing)
- to carry out tasks of responsibility in the design and programming of thematic content for services related to the Web, both in private and public sectors (including, above all, e-government activities - or telematic management of the administration - for large state institutions such as ministries, courts, universities, local authorities) in order to foster the transparency of information processes through the use of professionals in communication theory. In keeping with the aims of the interclass course, graduates of this pathway will be able to work in corporate structures that are involved in producing user-friendly computer interfaces and platforms.
The knowledge, skills and competences acquired in the course of studies and usually exercised in the work context are of a transversal nature and can be used in various qualified sectors of the labour market. They include
- knowledge, skills and competences acquired in the fields of cognitive and linguistic rehabilitation, design of human/machine interfaces, programming in Artificial Intelligence, advanced new media technologies, research in psychology and neuroscience, philosophy of mind and cognitive neuroscience.
- the mastery of the concepts used in the philosophical, linguistic and sociological theories of information and communication, analysed in their practical-applicative effects;
- mastery of the tools, languages and information and media technologies used in the management and dissemination processes of communication and information through different formats and communication channels;
- mastery of the fundamental concepts of the ethical, psychological and neuropsychological disciplines relevant to the genesis, transmission and sharing of communication processes.
