CHIARA POLLI is Research Fellow of English Language and Translation at the University of Messina (Italy), where she is carrying out a project on the application of linguistic and semiotic models to Artificial Intelligence. She previously held the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for the Quality and Innovation of Didactics of the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science at the University of Trento (Italy). She received her PhD in English Language and Translation with a thesis on the relation between translation and censorship in the Italian versions of US satirical underground comics. She published articles and presented papers at national and international conferences on the translation of comics, semiotics, multimodality, English as a medium of instruction (EMI), innovative teaching practices and internationalisation processes in higher education.
