    -Main research lines:
    Nutraceuticals, functional foods and mediterranean diet in menopausal women; effects of genistein, a soy-derived isoflavone, in early postmenopausal women with and without metabolic syndrome.
    Diet, nutraceuticals, varicocele and male fertility. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and dietary supplements.
    Diet, envinroment and Potentially Toxic Elements.
    Nutraceuticals and functional food supplements for brain health and neuroprotection; molecular mechanisms of inflammation; nervous, endocrine and immune systems interactions.

    He participated in several national and International Meetings, seminars and lectures. He published 108 research papers on well referenced peer-reviewed scientific national and international journals (104 papers are indexed in PubMed-MedLine; h-index: 41; 5200 citations on Scopus-Elsevier, Last Update 6/13/2023), 4 book chapters and several abstracts to multiple national and international conferences.
    He co-curated the Italian edition of textbook "Principles of Human Physiology third edition" by Cindy L. Stanfield and William J. Germann, EdiSES and the Italian edition of textbook "Guyton and Hall Textbook of Medical Physiology - 14th Edition" by J.E. Hall, Edra.
    He also collaborated to the Italian edition of textbook "Physiologie" VI ed. by R. Klinke, H.C. Pape, A. Kurtz, S. Silbernagl, EdiSES.
