Formazione1993: Laurea in Ingegneria Elettronica, indirizzo Telecomunicazioni, Università di Catania, con voti 110/110 e lode. Tesi: “Studio delle caratteristiche elettromagnetiche delle cavità risonanti usate nel Ciclotrone Superconduttore del Laboratorio Nazionale del Sud,” relatore Prof. Sebastiano Barbarino. La tesi è stata svolta presso il Laboratorio Nazionale del Sud (LNS) dell'INFN di Catania. Durante il periodo di tesi ed in quello immediatamente seguente G. Borzì e' stato associato del LNS, e titolare di una borsa di studio bandita dall'INFN.
1998: Dottorato di ricerca in “Ingegneria dell'Informazione, Elettromagnetismo Applicato e Telecomunicazioni” dell'Università di Salerno (consorziata con l'Università di Catania). Dissertazione finale “Finite Element Solution of Time-Harmonic Electromagnetic Scattering Problems by means of an Iterative Procedure,” relatore Prof. Salvatore Alfonzetti.
Carriera accademica
L'11 novembre 1998 ha preso servizio come ricercatore di Elettrotecnica presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria dell'Università di Messina. L'11 novembre 2001 il Dott. Borzì è stato confermato nel ruolo suddetto. Con D.R. n. 6320 del 12 ottobre 2010 è risultato idoneo nella valutazione comparativa ad un posto di Professore Associato per il SSD Elettrotecnica, ed il 31 marzo 2011 ha preso servizio come Professore Associato di Elettrotecnica presso la stessa Facoltà.
Con D.R. n. 777 del 9 aprile 2015 il Prof. Borzì è stato assegnato al SSD ING-INF/02 Campi Elettromagnetici.
Curriculum
Training1993: Master Degree in Electronic Engineering, specializing in Telecommunications, University of Catania, with 110/110 cum laude. Thesis: “Study of the electromagnetic characteristics of the resonant cavities used in the Superconducting Cyclotron of the Southern National Laboratory,” supervisor Prof. Sebastiano Barbarino. The thesis was carried out at the National Laboratory of the South (LNS) of the INFN in Catania. During the thesis period and the one immediately following, G. Borzì was an associate of the LNS, and holder of a INFN grant.
1998: PhD in "Information Engineering, Applied Electromagnetics and Telecommunications" of the University of Salerno (consortiumed with the University of Catania). Final dissertation “Finite Element Solution of Time-Harmonic Electromagnetic Scattering Problems by means of an Iterative Procedure,” supervisor Prof. Salvatore Alfonzetti.
Academic career
On 11 November 1998 he joined the Engineering Faculty of the University of Messina as a researcher in Electrotechnics. On 11 November 2001, Dr. Borzì was confirmed in the aforementioned role. With D.R. n. 6320 of 12 October 2010 was eligible in the comparative assessment for a post as Associate Professor for the Electrotechnical SSD, and on 31 March 2011 he took up service as Associate Professor of Electrotechnics at the same Faculty.
With D.R. n. 777 of 9 April 2015, Prof. Borzì was assigned to the SSD ING-INF / 02 Electromagnetic Fields.
