Curriculum
Nel 2006, Giovanni Finocchio ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca in tecnologie avanzate per l’optoelettronica, la fotonica e la modellizzazione elettromagnetica presso l'Università degli Studi di Messina. Dal 2010 è prima ricercatore e poi professore associato presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Matematiche e Informatiche, Scienze Fisiche e Scienze della Terra. È direttore del laboratorio PETASPIN (Petascale computing and Spintronics) tra l'Università di Messina ed il Suzhou Institute of Nanotech e Nanobionics (Cina). I suoi interessi di ricerca includono la spintronica, gli skyrmions e paradigmi di calcolo nonconvenzionali, su questi argomenti ha pubblicato più di 180 articoli riviste scientifiche di fama internazionale (https://scholar.google.co.uk/citations?user=eKDbn-oAAAAJ&hl=en). Negli ultimi 10 anni, ha fatto parte di molti comitati tecnici e scientifici di conferenze internazionali e ha organizzato più di 13 conferenze e workshop internazionali come principale organizzatore, componente del Comitato di Programma o in altre posizioni. Viene regolarmente invitato a conferenze di Magnetismo e Spintronica. È anche presidente dell'associazione Petaspin (www.petaspin.com), presidente del capitolo italiano della IEEE Magnetics Society, componente dell’AdCOM della società IEEE Magnetics e presidente del TC-16 Quantum, Neuromorphich and Unconventional computing della IEEE Nanotechnology council.Curriculum
Giovanni Finocchio received the Ph.D. degree in advanced technologies in optoelectronic, photonic and electromagnetic modeling from the University of Messina, Italy, in 2006. Since 2010, he has been an Assistant Professor first and Associate professor now with the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences and Earth Sciences at the University of Messina. He is director of the laboratory PETASPIN (Petascale computing and Spintronics) between University of Messina and Suzhou Institute of Nanotech and Nanobionics (China). His research interests include the spintronics, skyrmions, and computing, on those topics he has published more than 180 papers in well-established journal (https://scholar.google.co.uk/citations?user=eKDbn-oAAAAJ&hl=en). In the last 10 years, he served on many technical program committees of international conferences and organized more than 13 international conferences and workshops as Chair, Program Committee Member, or in other positions. He is regularly invited at conferences in Magnetism and Spintronics.
