Curriculum
Giovanni Crupi si è laureato in Ingegneria Elettronica con lode nel 2003 presso l’Università di Messina ed ha conseguito il titolo di dottore di ricerca nel 2006 presso la stessa Università. Attualmente è Professore Associato presso l’Università di Messina, dove tiene e/o ha tenuto i seguenti corsi: Fondamenti di Elettronica, Elettronica delle Microonde, Tecnologie Wireless, Optoelettronica e Bioingegneria. Ricopre il ruolo di Coordinatore della Commissione AQ-RDTM (di Assicurazione della Qualità per la Ricerca e la Terza Missione) del Dipartimento BIOMORF, Università degli Studi di Messina. Ha complessivamente svolto un periodo di ricerca pari a 28.5 mesi presso la KU Leuven ed IMEC, Leuven (Belgio). L’attività di ricerca, comprovata da oltre 250 lavori su riviste e congressi internazionali, ha riguardato prevalentemente la caratterizzazione e modellistica di transistori a microonde per applicazioni wireless e di sensori a microonde per applicazioni di bioingegneria. Si è occupato, in qualità di editore, della pubblicazione di due libri: “Microwave De-embedding: From Theory To Applications” (Elsevier Academic Press, Oxford, UK, 2013) e “Microwave Wireless Communications: From Transistor to System Level” (Elsevier Academic Press, Oxford, UK, 2016). E’ Editor-in-Chief della rivista Wiley International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields, Section Editor-in-Chief della rivista MDPI Electronics, ed Associate Editor delle riviste IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, IEEE Microwave and Wireless Technology Letters, ed IEEE Access. E’ stato Chair del TPC di INMMiC per il 2014 e il 2015. Inoltre, è Chair del programma IEEE MTT-S Graduate Fellowship, che è finalizzato all'assegnazione di 12 prestigiose borse di studio (6000 dollari cadauna oltre 1500 dollari per partecipare alla conferenza IEEE MTT-S IMS in USA).Curriculum
Giovanni Crupi received the M.Sc. in electronic engineering (cum laude) and the Ph.D. degrees from the University of Messina, Italy, in 2003 and in 2006, respectively.
Currently, he is Associate Professor at the University of Messina, Italy, where he teaches/taught Fundamentals of Electronics, Microwave Electronics, Wireless Technologies, Optoelectronics, and Bioengineering. He serves as the Coordinator of the AQ-RDTM Committee (Quality Assurance for Research and Third Mission) of the Department BIOMORF, University of Messina.
Since 2005, he has been a repeat visiting scientist with KU Leuven and IMEC, Leuven, Belgium. His main research interests include characterization and modeling of microwave transistors for wireless applications as well as of microwave sensors for bioengineering applications. He has authored or coauthored more than 250 publications in international journals and conferences. He has coedited two books published by Elsevier Academic Press: “Microwave De-embedding: From Theory To Applications” (Elsevier Academic Press, Oxford, UK, 2013) and “Microwave Wireless Communications: From Transistor to System Level” (Elsevier Academic Press, Oxford, UK, 2016).
Dr. Crupi is Editor-in-Chief of the Wiley International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields, Section Editor-in-Chief of the MDPI Electronics, and also Associate Editor of the journals IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, IEEE Microwave and Wireless Technology Letters, and IEEE Access. He served as the TPC Chair of the IEEE INMMiC in 2014 and 2015.
Since 2012, he is the Chair of the IEEE MTT-S Graduate Fellowship program, which is one of the longest continuing education-related activities of the IEEE MTT-S and awards up to 12 annual Fellowships (each in the amount of 6000$ plus 1000$ to attend IMS in USA) to encourage future leaders and key technical contributors in their pursuit of careers in RF and microwave engineering.
