CURRICULUM

Curriculum

  • Italian National Operational Program (PON) “Research and Innovation” 2014-2020 “THALASSA  - TecHnology And materials for safe Low consumption And low life cycle cost veSSels And crafts”
  • Italian Ministry of Economic Development, National Operational Program (PON) “Businesses and Competitiveness”2014-2021 “DAS PHANTOMSHIFFE - Development of innovative systems and processes for highly advanced technologies in the production of eco-friendly boats with low magnetic signature and high electromagnetic shielding”
  • Sicily Region Operational Program (PO-FESR) 2014-2020 “SMART-ART - Development of advanced methods of restoration, diagnostics and remote control for the conservation of the artistic and architectural heritage”
  • ARS01_00334, (M.I.U.R. – PON 2014/2020) ‘‘NAvi efficienti tramite l'Utilizzo di Soluzioni tecnologiche Innovative e low Carbon (NAUSICA)”

    Curriculum

Emanuela Mastronardo graduated in Materials Engineering (110/110 cum laude) on November, 7th 2012 at the University of Messina. Subsequently, she obtained the title of Ph.D. in Engineering and Chemistry of Materials on April, 14th 2016.
The researcher developed part of her doctoral studies at the Laboratory for Advanced Nuclear Energy of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. From 2016 to 2017, EM was a research fellow at the Engineering Department of the University of Messina, whose grants were funded by the National Interuniversity Consortium for Materials Science and Technology (INSTM) and by the PON project "MAGINOT - Integrated system for monitoring and protecting urban, suburban and marine environment".
From 2017 to 2019, EM was Visiting Post-doctoral Researcher at the Materials Science and Engineering Department of Northwestern University, US, and from 2019 to 2020 Post-doctoral Researcher at the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry of CSIC, Spain. In 2017 she received funding from the European Union Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Global Fellowship N° 74616 Horizon 2020 research and innovation program for the “SESPer-Solar Energy Storage Perovskites” project proposal. The project led to the development and testing of innovative materials (perovskites) for the accumulation of thermochemical heat from solar concentrating plants, aiming to overcome the problem of intermittency of solar radiation and increase the efficiency of the plants.
Currently, she is a "senior" fixed-term Researcher at the Engineering Department of the University of Messina and lecturer in the course of Materials Science and Technology. The researcher is the author of 30 publications (h-index 12), she has participated in numerous international and national conferences, also as a Keynote Speaker and member of the scientific committee. She received the “Seal of Excellence” issued by the European Commission and the “AICIng award for young researchers”. The researcher is also a member of AIMAT - the Italian Association of Materials Engineering, of the joint program International Energy Agency Solar Heating and Cooling (IEA / SHC) / Energy Conservation and Energy Storage (ECES), and of the SolarPACES Task III.
EM collaborates in the following research projects:
    • Italian National Operational Program (PON) "Research and Innovation" 2014-2020 "THALASSA - TecHnology And materials for safe Low consumption And low life cycle cost veSSels And crafts"
    • Italian Ministry of Economic Development, National Operational Program (PON) "Businesses and Competitiveness" 2014-2021 "DAS PHANTOMSHIFFE - Development of innovative systems and processes for highly advanced technologies in the production of eco-friendly boats with low magnetic signature and high electromagnetic shielding "
