    Qualifications:
     
    • Degree in Medicine at Messina University in October 1989 with first class honours.
     
    • Specialization in Pediatrics at University of Messina, in  November 1993 with first class honours.
     
    Further experience:
     
    March-April 1996 - He attended the Pediatric Unit of Gastroenterology and Digestive Motility at the University of Naples "Federico II" focusing on ph-metry and manometry in Gastroesophageal Reflux and on Gastrointestinal motility disorders. He also gained valuable experience in the endoscopic technique of colon diseases especially as regards Inflammatory  Bowel Diseases.
         
    April- June 1994 - He attended the Division of Gastoenterelogy and liver disease of the Hopital Universitaire des Enfants "Reine Fabiola" in Bruxelles focusing on Pediatric Endoscopy and on Gastrointestinal motility. He actively participated to doctor-surgical Seminaries organized with the Surgery Unit . He also dedicated  his interest towards  patients with hepatic transplant and issues concerning Nutrition.
     
    December 1997 – He attended the 7th Annual Course of Pediatric Gastroenterology at the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology of the Royal Free Hospital in London organized by prof. J.A. Walker- Smith
     
    September-October 1998 – He attended the Division of Pediatric Digestive Surgery and Endoscopy at the “Bambin Gesu’” Hospital in Rome
     
    Visiting Professor, University Emory of Atlanta USA ( 2012-2013)
    September- October 2014: He attended the IBD Unit, Necker Hospital, Paris, France
