Il Dott. Antonino Galletta è un Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato di tipo A (RTD-A) nel Settore Scientifico Disciplinare INF/01 del Dipartimento MIFT dell'Università di Messina. Ha conseguito il Dottorato nel 2020 presso l'Università "Mediterranea" di Reggio Calabria in Ingegneria Civile, Ambientale e della Sicurezza. Dall'Anno Accademico 2021/2022 è docente degli insegnamenti "Programmazione ad Oggetti" ed "Operating Systems". Le sue attività di ricerca si concentrano sulle tecnologie Cloud/Edge e IoT per la gestione dei Big Data nei contesti di Smart City ed e-health. A livello internazionale, il Dott. Galletta ha collaborazioni attive con diverse Università estere tra cui
l'università di Karlstad e Mälardalen in Svezia, l'Università di Cardiff nel Regno Unito, la Technische Universität di Vienna in Austria e l'Università Federale Juiz de Fora in Brasile. Grazie al suo contributo nella ricerca nei suddetti settori, nel 2019 è stato selezionato tra i 200 più qualificati giovani ricercatori in Matematica ed Informatica per partecipare all' Heidelberg Laureate Forum. E' stato vincitore di diversi premi tra cui il "Premio Innovazione Leonardo" nel 2018 (primo classificato) e 2017 (secondo classificato), la FIWARE Genoa Hackathon ecc. Attualmente è revisore di 15 Riviste scientifiche di classe Q1, Co-Organizzatore di Workshop e Conferenze (tra cui CCGRid 2022) e autore di più di 50 pubblicazioni.

Curriculum
Dr Antonino Galletta is an assistant professor in Computer Science (INF/01) at the University of Messina. In 2020 he received a PhD from the inter-university consortium composed of the University of Reggio Calabria (Italy) and the University of Messina (Italy). He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. (with honours) in Computer Engineering from the University of Messina. Before starting the PhD, he worked as a senior software developer and a team leader at the University of Messina from 2013 to 2016. In 2019 he was the PI of NAME (Helsinki Noise and Air quality Monitoring systEm) a project funded by the European Pre-Commercial Procurement Project “Select for Cities” (Grant Agreement No 688196). His main research activities focus on Cloud/Edge/IoT technologies for Smart cities and eHealth including Big Data management and Blockchain.
He has several international collaborations with worldwide research centres such as the University of Karlstad and of Mälardalen (Sweden), Cardiff University (UK), the Technische Universität of Wien (Austria) and the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Brasil).
Due to his contribution to the research, he has been selected among 200 top young researchers in Mathematics and Computer Science to participate at the prestigious “Heidelberg Laureate Forum” held in Heidelberg in September 2019. He has been the winner of two editions of the precious “Leonardo Innovation Award” in 2018 (First Placed) and in 2017 (Second Placed). In 2019 he was one of the winners of the FIWARE Genoa Hackathon. In 2018, in December he won the Vienna FIWARE challenge and in April, during the “International Conference on Geoinformatics and Data Analysis” (ICGDA, Prague 20-22 April), he won the “Best Presentation Award”. He is a reviewer of more than 15 respected Journals, Chair of several International Conferences and co-author of more than 50 manuscripts.
