Obiettivi Formativi

Acquisizione di elementi di competenza storico-religiosa, con particolare attenzione: – alla conoscenza riflessa dei fatti religiosi, percepiti con la distanza critica di un osservatore neutrale esterno; – al metodo storico-comparativo, concretamente esemplificato con la trattazione di un numero ristretto di tematiche di ampio rilievo in ambiti religiosi diversi.

Learning Goals

Acquisitions of elements of historical-religious competence, and namely: a reflected knowledge of religious facts, with the critical perspective of the outsider; historical-comparative method, detailed through the discussion of a limited number of topics of great relevance in different religious contexts.

Metodi didattici

Il corso è complessivamente organizzato per lezioni frontali, ma per il modulo iconografico (b) ed altri parti, da individuare in itinere, del corso risulta importante la trasmissione efficace di materiale visivo a corredo dell’esposizione orale del docente, o più specificamente [non solo nel modulo iconografico] come base della sua esposizione. Per questo il modulo iconografico e altre parti del corso verranno presentati come videolezioni, o trasmesse in aula dal docente con ausilii tecnici propri o forniti dal dipartimento, o impartite, previe le necessarie autorizzazioni, in e learning.

Teaching Methods

The course is generally taught through lectures; for the iconographic module (b) and other topics, to be identified during the course, is important that the effective transmission of visual material accompanies the oral exposure teaching, or more specifically [not only in the iconographic module] be the basis of his lecturing. Therefore the iconographic module and other parts of the course will be presented as video lessons, either transmitted in the classroom by the teacher with technical aids, own or provided by the department, or given, subject to the necessary approvals, in e-learning.

Prerequisiti

Non vi sono prerequisiti specifici, trasmessi dalla scuola superiore od acquisibili in altri corsi umanistici, necessari a seguire il corso di storia delle religioni, che si rivolge a qualunque normale studente di una qualsiasi facoltà umanistica. Più specificamente non sono richieste specifiche competenze linguistiche, neppure di greco e latino; le conoscenze storiche usualmente apprese in qualunque scuola superiore sono più che sufficienti. Ciascun corso può essere frequentato indipendentemente dall’altro, ma la materia è ripartita tra i miei insegnamenti in maniera che lo studente specificamente interessato possa anche proficuamente combinarli nella sua carriera, senza significative ridondanze.

Prerequisites

No specific prerequisites, transmitted by high school or acquired in other humanities courses, are needed to follow the course in history of religions , offered to any ordinary student of any humanistic faculty. More specifically no specific language skills, not even in Greek and Latin, are requested; historical contents usually learned in any high school is more than enough. Each course can be taken independently of the other, but the subjects are divided between my courses so that the student specifically interested may also usefully combine them in his/her career, without significant redundancies.

Verifiche dell'apprendimento

Esame orale basato su ampi quesiti, di regola tre, tratti da una lista predefinita, corrispondenti agli argomenti svolti a lezione e presentati nella letteratura consigliata. Il candidato dovrà brevemente illustrare ogni singola tematica assegnatagli seguendo le linee principali dell'argomentazione del testo, corredata da dettagli adeguati liberamente scelti.

Assessment

Learning will be verified through oral examination based on broad questions, usually three, drawn from a published list, corresponding to the arguments taught in the lessons and presented in recommended literature. The candidate will explain the topic assigned following the main lines of the argument of the text, accompanied by adequately and freely chosen details.

Programma del Corso

Il programma di esame comprende una parte comune (4CFU) ed uno a scelta tra due moduli alternativi (2CFU). Il primo modulo (b), dati i suoi contenuti visivi, sarà in ogni caso impartito tramite videolezioni. Il modulo alternativo (c) è destinato agli studenti non frequentanti. Testi sacri e iconografie religiose a confronto a) Testi sacri a confronto Bibbia ebraica e sue componenti (Torah, Profeti anteriori e posteriori, megillot e Scritti), distinta dalla sua rilettura cristiana. Presentazione molto sintetica delle singole autorialità individuali (J, E, P, D, Deuteronomista, Cronista; tre Isaia, due Zaccaria, ecc.) della Bibbia ebraica e comparazione con l’unica autorialità del Corano. Comparazione delle forme espressive della Bibbia (ebraica e cristiana) e del Corano: narratore onnisciente, parola profetica ed argomentazione epistolare, poesia sapienziale, ecc. Testi sacri di altre religioni (religioni classiche, Mormoni, Buddismo) b) Iconografia religiosa comparata Iconografia religiosa greca. Aniconismo ebraico, calvinista ed islamico. Iconografia biblica cristiana. Iconografia buddista. c) Religioni greca romana ed egizia: dèi feste e sacerdoti.

Course Syllabus

The program comprises a common part (4CFU) and one module (2CFU) chosen among two alternative ones. The first module (b), due to his visual contents, will be in any case taught through video-lessons. The alternative module (c) is intended for not attending students. Sacred Texts and religious imagery: comparative analysis a) Comparion of sacred texts Hebrew Bible and its components (Torah, Former and Latter Prophets , megillot, Writings), distinct from its Christian rereading. Very synthetic presentation of individual authorships (J, E, P, D, Deuteronomist, Chronicler; three Isaiahs, two Zechariahs, etc. ) of the Hebrew Bible and comparison with the single authorship of the Quran. Comparison of the expressive forms of the (Jewish and Christian) Bible and the Qur'an: narrator omniscient, prophetic word and argumentation in letters, poetry, sapiential texts etc. Sacred texts of other religions (classical religions, Mormons, Buddhism) b) Comparative religious iconography Greek religious iconography. Hebrew, Calvinist and Islamic aniconism. Christian biblical iconography. Buddhist Iconography c) Roman Greek and Egyptian religions: gods, festivals, priests.
