BIOGRAFEMA
Rita Fulco is Associate Professor in Theoretical Philosophy since 11 January 2024. She was postdoc fellow in Theoretical Philosophy, from 2016 to 10 January 2021 at Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa.
She qualified as Associate Professor (“Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale di II Fascia”) in Theoretical Philosophy (2015 and 2018), Political Philosophy (2014 and 2018) and Moral Philosophy (2014).
After a Ph.D in Philosophy from the University of Palermo (“Diritti umani: evoluzione, tutela e limiti” [2013]) and another one from the University of Messina (“Metodologie della Filosofia” [2000]), she obtained a two-year Post-Doc fellowship from the University of Messina and a DAAD fellowship in the University of Freiburg-im-Breisgau.
She is a member of the Association pour l’étude de la pensée de Simone Weil; of the Centro Europeo di Studi su Mito e Simbolo; of the Associazione italiana Walter Benjamin and of the Italian Thought Netiwork.
She is also member of the editorial board of the series of philosophy books “Novecento”, published by “Mimesis” and “Almanacco di Filosofia e Politica”, published by Quodlibet.
She has worked on the theoretical, religious, ethical and political entailments of 21st century’s philosophy, and most specially on the writings of Simone Weil, Emmanuel Levinas, Sergio Quinzio, Manlio Sgalambro, Roberto Esposito.
Her research has been published in books and in numerous articles and essays in collective books and in international scientific reviews.
She has also presented her work in many seminars and conferences, both in Italy and abroad.
