Job Opening: 3 Postdoctoral Positions (“assegni di ricerca”) at the University of Turin, within the ERC project “NeMoSanctI – New Models of Sanctity in Italy (1960s-2010s). A Semiotic Analysis of Norms, Causes of Saints, Hagiography, and Narratives".

The project adopts a semiotic perspective and studies the models of sanctity emerged after the Second Vatican Council. New models are also explained in light of the notion of sanctity elaborated across the centuries, and especially since the Council of Trent. The 3 postdocs will thus study a corpus of normative and hagiographic texts and a sample of acts of causes for canonization, according to the research plan entailed by the ERC project.

Requirements: Ph.D. (mandatory). Good knowledge of semiotics and of the topic of sanctity, and competence for studying it from an interdisciplinary perspective (e.g. religious studies, canon law, etc.). Fluency in Italian and English, knowledge of Latin. Good attitude for team work, regular and constant presence in the workplace (Turin).
