Obiettivi Formativi

Il corso introduce gli studenti ai fondamenti della microeconomia. Intende fornire agli allievi la padronanza dei principali strumenti di analisi elaborati dalla teoria microeconomica contemporanea per valutare in termini di benessere sociale le scelte individuali. Alla teoria economica si affiancano degli esempi concreti delle scelte economiche di individui, imprese e Stato. L’obiettivo finale è pertanto di presentare agli studenti il modo in cui gli economisti pensano ed affrontano i problemi di microeconomia.

Learning Goals

The course introduces students to the fundamentals of microeconomics. It aims to provide students with mastery of the main analysis tools developed by contemporary microeconomic theory to evaluate individual choices in terms of social well-being. Economic theory is accompanied by concrete examples of the economic choices of individuals, businesses and the state. The ultimate goal is therefore to present students with how economists think and deal with microeconomic problems.

Metodi didattici

Le lezioni sono frontali. Pur non essendovi obbligatorietà di frequenza il docente consiglia più che vivamente di seguire le lezioni: un’assidua frequenza garantirà maggiori opportunità di conseguire risultati positivi alla prova d’esame.

Teaching Methods

Lessons are theoretical. Although attendance is not compulsory, the instructor strongly recommends attending the lessons: regular attendance will ensure greater opportunities to achieve a better performance in the exam.

Verifiche dell'apprendimento

La verifica dell’apprendimento verrà effettuata esclusivamente in forma scritta, in presenza, in maniera identica per studenti frequentanti e non frequentanti, in corso e fuori corso, con la sola eccezione che i bisogni educativi speciali o le condizioni di salute dello studente (giustificate da medico competente) richiedano una modalità diversa. È prevista una prova intermedia non obbligatoria scritta in orario di lezione durante la seconda metà del mese di aprile, con validità esonerativa per gli esami finali se effettuati prima di 31 luglio dello stesso anno. La prova d’esame finale è composta da cinque domande per un tempo di un'ora ed un quarto, per chi non usufruisce dell'esonero, e di tre domande per un tempo di quarantacinque minuti, se si fa uso dell'esonero. Se venisse usato l'esonero, la valutazione finale della materia sarebbe costituita nel sessanta per cento dallo esame finale, e nel quaranta per cento dall'esame di esonero.

Assessment

Verification of learning will be exclusively presential and through written exam. It is the same exam for attending and non-attending students, on-going and off-course, with the sole exception that the student's special educational needs and heath condition (properly justified by competent doctor) required a different method. A voluntary midterm exam will be done in class during the second half of April. This exam exempts the student from parts of the final exam, if the final exam is taken before July 31st of the same year. The final exam consists of five questions for a maximum time length of one hour and a quarter, if no exemption is to be used. It will contain three questions for a maximum time length of fourty-five minutes, should the exemption be utilized. Should the exemption be used, the final evaluation will be calculated with a weighted mean that puts sixty per cent weight on the final exam and fourty per cent weight on the midterm exam.
