Obiettivi Formativi

Al termine del corso lo studente deve aver sviluppato le seguenti abilità: Comprendere le idee principali di testi complessi su argomenti sia concreti che astratti, comprendere le discussioni tecniche sul suo campo di specializzazione. Essere in grado di interagire con una certa scioltezza e spontaneità che rendono possibile un'interazione naturale con i parlanti nativi senza sforzo per l'interlocutore. Saper produrre un testo chiaro e dettagliato su un'ampia gamma di argomenti e spiegare un punto di vista su un argomento fornendo i pro e i contro delle varie opzioni.

Learning Goals

At the end of the course the student has to possess the following skills: Understanding the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions on their field of specialization. Being able to interact with a certain degree of flexibility and spontaneity that make it possible for natural interaction with native speakers effortlessly for the interlocutor. Learning how to produce clear and detailed text on a wide range of topics and explaining a point of view on a subject by providing the pros and cons of the various options.

Il corso è erogato in lingua inglese, attraverso materiali interattivi predisposti e prevede lo svolgimento di diverse attività di analisi testuale per migliorare la competenza linguistica.

Teaching Methods

The course is in English. Prepared interactive materials and various activities of texts analysis are given to the students for improving language proficiency.

Colloquio orale sugli argomenti trattati nei testi in programma, nelle date riportate sul calendario degli appelli degli esami. Il colloquio sarà volto ad accertare, oltre le abilità e competenze previste dagli obiettivi formativi e dai contenuti del corso, anche la capacità espositiva e la proprietà di linguaggio. Si prevedono prove intermedie in itinere le cui modalità saranno rese note dal docente all’inizio del corso

Assessment

Oral examination on the topics of the course. The exam dates will be announced in the official calendar of exams. The exam will evaluate the skills and abilities related to both learning objective and course syllabus. It will also evaluate the fluency and the accuracy. Intermediate assessment, defined by the professor at the beginning of the course, is an integral part of the course.

Programma del Corso

Il corso affronta i problemi di comparazione testi specialistici/istituzionali e fornisce gli strumenti necessari per cimentarsi nell'analisi testuale. Il modulo introduttivo si focalizzerà sull'analisi morfologica, grammaticale e semantica della lingua inglese in preparazione all'analisi testuale, oggetto dell’approfondimento. La parte teorica sarà supportata da attività pratica di analisi testi specialistici.

Course Syllabus

The course focuses on the problems of comparison of specialized/institutional texts The first module introduces morphological, grammatical and semantic analysis of the English language to prepare students for textual analysis. The theoretical part will be supported by textual analysis activities.
