Obiettivi Formativi

Il corso è finalizzato all’apprendimento della storia della letteratura inglese da Geoffrey Chaucer (1343-1400) al Preromanticismo. L’obiettivo è far acquisire allo studente una chiara consapevolezza dell’evolversi dei generi e dei motivi letterari e delle istanze sociali, politiche e culturali connesse. Lo studente acquisirà inoltre familiarità con le caratteristiche stilistiche e i diversi registri linguistici di un testo letterario

Learning Goals

The course aims at providing the learner with the knowledge of the history of English Literature from Geoffrey Chaucer (1343-1400) to the Pre-Romantic age. Its goal is to enable the student to acquire a clear view of the evolution of literary genres and motifs and of the related social, political and cultural issues, and also to become familiar with the stylistic features and the different registers of a literary text

Il corso verte sulla storia della letteratura inglese dalle origini al Preromanticismo, soffermandosi sulle istanze socio-culturali particolarmente rilevanti del periodo in oggetto e sui testi letterari più rappresentativi e sarà integrato da forme di attività complementari sotto forma di lettorato.
