Obiettivi Formativi

Il corso si propone di far acquisire allo studente una conoscenza grammaticale che equivale al livello B2 del quadro comune europeo di riferimento. Al termine del corso, lo studente è in grado di comprendere le idee principali di testi complessi su argomenti sia concreti che astratti, compreso le discussioni tecniche sul suo campo di specializzazione, interagire con una certa scioltezza e spontaneità che rendono possibile un'interazione naturale con i parlanti nativi senza sforzo per l'interlocutore, produrre un testo chiaro e dettagliato su un'ampia gamma di argomenti e spiegare un punto di vista su un argomento fornendo i pro e i contro delle varie opzioni.

Learning Goals

The course aims at providing students with the tools needed to acquire a knowledge of grammar equivalent to level B2 of the Common European Framework. At the end of the course, the student is able to: (1) understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization; (2) interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party; (3) produce clear, detailed text on a wide variety of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Verifiche dell'apprendimento

Gli studenti dovranno discutere un argomento di loro scelta nonché interagire con il docente su argomenti connessi al loro campo o di natura generica. Saranno valutati in base alla loro capacità di esprimersi in modo chiaro mostrando un relativamente alto grado di controllo grammaticale senza errori che potrebbero portare alla incomprensione.

Assessment

Students will be required to discuss a topic of their choice as well as interact with the examiner on matters connected to their field and most general topics. They will be assessed on their ability to make themselves clearly understood by showing a relatively high degree of grammatical control without making mistakes which lead to misunderstanding.
